Summer is almost over, But the heat is still on thanks to Victoria Monét and Usher. The duo just released “SOS (Sex On Sight),” a hot and heavy new duet from Monét's upcoming album. Jaguar 2 Deluxe.
Produced by Camper (Coco Jones, Doja Cat), “SOS” is a slow R&B classic built around a sweaty bass line. Monet sends a signal to her potential lover and Usher promises to be there soon. “I’m so hot I can’t be alone,” the duo sing in the song’s intro.
In a statement, Monet said the song is “about desire.” She continued, “It’s about the urgency you feel when you need some love, physical touch, and good attention! Sometimes that desire can feel as urgent as a rescue from a natural disaster, or in this case, a rescue from your own sensual desires. Just like a storm, SOS calls out, warning your lover of the coming rain and welcoming the beautiful relief of that desire. It feels romantic, fun, sexy, and direct.”
Earlier this year, Monet won three Grammy Awards for Jaguar 2Usher also kicked off the year in style, headlined the Super Bowl halftime show. The pair have been publicly mingling for months now, with Monet gifting Usher a leather jacket to congratulate him on his Super Bowl win and later performing his hit song “Bad Girl” with Teyana Taylor as part of the star’s lifetime achievement tribute at the BET Awards.
While Monet confirmed that Jaguar 2 Deluxe It's on its way, but she hasn't revealed a release date yet.
