Scott Weighs in on Dad Clint Eastwood’s Filmmaking Future

We spoke with Scott Eastwood resulting in the release of 1992His new thriller is set in a pivotal time in Los Angeles amid the Rodney King riots. Scott’s ambitious character’s father is played by the late great Ray Liotta in one of his last films, so it’s great to see the pair chatting and bickering across their fictional roles on the big screen. In real life, Scott’s ambitious father is played by an Oscar-winning actor. Clint Eastwoodhas been busy with a new, highly anticipated drama called Juror No. 2which also stars Clint's daughter Francesca Eastwood and several other big names.

At 94, the film world has to wonder if… Juror No. 2 This will be Clint's last movie – or if he's going to continue working, that is.Look, you can never rule out my dad making another movie.“He's been doing this for a long time,” Scott told MovieWeb.

And Liotta playing your movie dad certainly has its perks, as Scott explained to us: “Getting the chance to spend the summer with Ray [for 1992]It was really cool, and I will cherish that forever. It was great to hear about the process of making the film. Good guys And working with Martin Scorsese, you know, was really great, getting to know his work and his history in this field. So, you know, I will always remember the summer I worked with Ray.“.”

Eastwood's 20-Year Friendship with Tyrese Gibson

Scott's new film also benefits from Fast and Furious Reunited, with Tyrese Gibson who stole the show in 1992 As a father struggling to navigate the Watts riots while protecting his son.Therese and I are back“You know, we’ve worked together a number of times, and we’ve had a long-standing friendship that’s probably been going on for 20 years,” Scott said. “So working with Tyrese is easy. Like, we go in and do great work. We have fun.” Scott also explained his personal connection to the real-life subject matter explored in 1992:

“I was very familiar with the movie, and I was there when it was being made. I remember my parents watching it on TV all the time, and I remember people talking about it. But I was young, so I think looking back at the movie and re-learning it as an adult and learning more about it — I thought it was a great idea for a movie. It took this pivotal moment in history, and put a realistic, interesting heist movie at the heart of it, and I thought it was a great, innovative idea for a movie.”

It also helps that Scott is interested in real-life heist movies, he assured us.There is such a pleasure in fulfilling desires.“You want to see these robberies, I don't know why, they're fun to get away with. It's fun to watch them, you know, maybe cheer for the bad guys sometimes, maybe see if they get away with it.“Look at this internal conflict. So I always love movies like this.”

From Lionsgate, 1992 It will be released in theaters on August 30, 2024.
