It's good. It’s time to be a fan of British pop music. Tickets for Oasis’ planned 2025 reunion show are selling out fast. Blur released an album last year, and now Pulp are on a North American tour, with dates starting in mid-September. The tour, which was announced in March, will mark the first time the Sheffield band have toured the continent in more than a decade. The band’s first date is September 8, when they’ll play at the Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, Illinois.

These dates are part of the band's “This Is What We Do for Another Tour.” Official tickets can be found on Ticketmaster and resale sites like StubHub, VividSeats, and TicketNetwork. Prices vary by venue and ticketing site, so it's worth shopping around for the best availability, and most venues offer GA floor tickets.

Pulp last performed in the US at Coachella in 2012. The band has spent much of the past year on the festival circuit, playing at European festivals like Primavera Sound and Way Out West. Pulp's North American tour is relatively short – the band plays nine shows in just five cities; Chicago, Toronto, New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker has led a successful solo career in the 23 years since the band's last album, We love lifeHe is as well known for his oversized glasses and outspoken opinions as he is for his staccato singing. Like Oasis, Pulp has spoken out against scalpers in the tour’s publicity. While Oasis has stated that tickets can only be resold at face value, Pulp wrote on social media, “Please don’t buy resale tickets at stupidly inflated prices.” The good news is that most resale tickets are selling for modest amounts. Many GA tickets can be found for around $130. This can still be an investment for many fans, but it’s not an outrageous price.

While Pulp never achieved the massive fame of Oasis and Blur, they did have real hits such as “Common People”, which reached number two on the UK Singles Chart. “Common People” appeared on the album different categorywhich also included hits like “Disco 2000” and “Something Changed.” Cocker spoke to Rolling Stone about his aspirations, telling Rob Sheffield in 2020, “When I had my own group, we always aspired to have hits. Because for me, that was where the music really happened.”

Pulp tours smaller venues, which means some dates sell out quickly. After the band's first two dates at The Palladium in Hollywood sold out, Pulp added another show at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

Pulp also celebrated their penultimate album. This is very difficult. With the release of Hardcore: The Cinematic World of Cheap MoviesThe coffee table book features photographs taken by Paul Burgess, who documented the band's live performances and studio sessions. The book was released on January 9, 2024.
