Chappelle Rowan has had an incredible year – as is this month. Rolling Stone In her words, she’s experienced “the kind of rise that makes words like ‘meteoric’ seem quaint.” However, she’s also been open about how confusing it all has been, even taking to TikTok to describe the scary moments she’s had with overzealous fans and to open up about the wild expectations placed on her now that her career has taken off.

While it has been difficult to deal with her newfound fame, some of music’s biggest stars have also reached out to show their support. She’s received emails from Mitski and calls from Elton John; other artists have also praised her and told her they stand by her. Here are some of the people who have supported Rowan.

In her lead story, Rowan reported that Mitski had written her a long email expressing sympathy for her experiences with the complexities of fame. “I just wanted to humbly welcome you to the most luxurious club in the world, the club where strangers think you belong, find your family and harass them,” the email read.

Mitski spoke about the ambivalence she felt towards fame and celebrity. “I felt like it was slowly taking away my soul,” she said. It’s something that people don’t normally talk about. I’m proud of what you’re doing. And everyone, I hope you all know that everyone deserves compassion, even if you’re rich, even if you’re famous.”

Rowan shared that Charlie was one of the people who first reached out to her when her career was skyrocketing. Charlie also spoke about how much she respects Rowan's art during a recent interview with Troye Sivan for ID card“It feels like there’s a new wave of artists with different ambitions and different cultural points who are really thriving in mainstream culture,” Charlie said. “And I think that’s me, that’s Troy, that’s Chappelle.”

Elton John

Elton John has been a fan of Rowan's for a while; he even featured her song “Pink Pony Club” on his show. Rocket watch Radio show in 2023. He was calling her to check on her from a number Rowan didn't recognize, and he called her 11 times in five days. “I thought a fan found my iCloud account,” Rowan said in her message. Katy Perry

In her cover interview, Rowan said that Katy Perry gave her valuable advice: “Never read the comments.” In other interviews, Perry has spoken about how much she loves and appreciates Rowan’s music. “I connect with her more than anything because she’s so authentic,” she said in a conversation with Scott Mills on BBC Sounds.

Perry went on to describe the new generation of pop stars, like Rowan and Tate McRae, who have made their mark on the music industry. “There's a wave of them and they're all so talented. They work so hard. They have their own perspectives and their own voices. And Chappelle, man, her perspective on life is my perspective,” she said.

The Paramore singer sent Roan a direct message and offered to talk to her whenever she needed to. She also posted an Instagram story after Roan expressed some of her struggles with her new status as an Instagram celebrity and her need to set boundaries with fans.

“This happens to every woman I know in this business, including me. Social media has made it worse,” Williams wrote. “I’m so grateful that Chappelle is willing to address this in a real, real-time way. It’s brave and unfortunately necessary.”

Rowan stated that even though Gaga had given her her phone number, she was so nervous that she couldn't text or call her. In a recent interview with Vogue MagazineGaga praised Ryan and other pop stars like Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, Kesha and Billie Eilish, saying their success influences her a lot.

“I mean, I really love them. I go online and I cry. I love Taylor Swift, too. And Kesha. I watch all of that, and I'm like, 'Yeah. Go!' … I'm not just cheering them on, I want them to know that my heart is with them. I want them all to feel really happy,” Gaga said.

Sabrina Carpenter reached out to Rowan and suggested they meet up and share notes after they had both had a huge breakthrough this summer. “We’re both going through something really tough… She feels like everything is going great, and she’s just hanging on,” Rowan said. “It was nice to know that someone else was feeling that way.”
