‘His & Hers’ Netflix Limited Series Adds Four to Cast

Netflix's limited series adaptation of Alice Feeney's novel “His & Hers” has added four new cast members.

Crystal Fox, Sunita Mani, Rebecca Rittenhouse and Marin Ireland have joined the series. Fox, Mani and Rittenhouse will appear in series regular roles, while Ireland will make a recurring guest appearance. They will star alongside previously announced cast members Tessa Thompson as well as Jon Bernthal and Pablo Schreiber. Netflix has commissioned six episodes, with production set to begin this fall.

The official description for the series reads, “Set in the sweltering heat of Atlanta, Anna (Thompson) lives in eerie isolation, estranged from her friends and her career as a news anchor. But when she hears about a murder in Dahlonega—the quiet town where she grew up—Anna springs to life, swooping in to investigate and find answers. Detective Jack Harper (Bernthal) is strangely suspicious of her involvement, and pursues her in his own investigation. There are two sides to every story: his side and hers, which means someone is always lying.”

Fox will play Alice, Manny will play Priya, Ritinhoso will play Lexi, and Ireland will play Zoe. Full character descriptions can be found below.

Fox recently starred in the Apple TV+ series “The Big Door Prize,” Tyler Perry’s “The Haves and the Have Nots,” and the feature film “A Fall From Grace.” She previously starred in the series “In the Heat of the Night.”

Mani previously starred in Netflix's “GLOW” for all three seasons on the streaming platform. She has also appeared in shows like “Scavengers Reign,” “No Activity,” and “Mr. Robot.” In film, she has appeared in movies like “Spirited” and “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”

Rittenhouse most recently helmed the Hulu TV series “Maggie” and has appeared in shows like “Blood & Oil,” “The Affair,” and “Four Weddings and a Funeral,” as well as films like “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood” and “Unfriended: Dark Web.”

Ireland is known for shows like “The Umbrella Academy,” “Sneaky Pete,” “Justified: City Primeval,” and “Y: The Last Man.” She is also known for her roles in films like “Hell or High Water,” “Rachel Getting Married,” and “The Understudy.”

Fox is represented by Greene Talent. Mani is represented by UTA, Mosaic and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Rittenhouse is represented by Rogue Management and CAA. Ireland is represented by CAA, Untitled Entertainment and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole.

William Oldroyd, Dee Johnson and “Ozark” co-creator Bill DuBiouk serve as writers and executive producers on the series, with Oldroyd also set to direct three episodes including the pilot. Johnson will serve as showrunner. Thompson will also executive produce on “His & Hers” under her Viva Maude banner. Season five, where DuBiouk is under an overall deal, is the studio’s.

Character description:

Crystal Fox as Alice: Anna's mother, who still lives at home in Dahlonega, Georgia. Strong, says what she thinks, and lives alone but maybe she shouldn't. She hasn't heard from her daughter in a year, but she knows why. Her son-in-law, Detective Jack Harper, has been keeping an eye on her as her health has been declining leading to some strange behavior around town. Series regular.

Sunita Mani as Priya: Priya is a new detective at the Sheriff's Office and Detective Jack Harper's partner in Dahlonega, Georgia, with a high level of efficiency, a passion for client satisfaction, and an interest in murder. Having left the big city for a small town job, Priya brings a sharp quirk to the job that her mentor Jack finds both endearing and annoying. Series regular.

Rebecca Rittenhouse as Lexie: Blonde hair, Hollywood smile, smart, professional, and driven by raw ambition, Lexie is now a news anchor at WSK-TV—a position previously held by the popular Anna Andrews for years. As WSK's new field reporter, Lexie takes advantage of Anna's vacation and jumps into the anchor desk position. Although she is “happy” to see Anna back at the news station, she has no intention of giving up the anchor desk. Series regular.

Marin Ireland as Zoe: Sharp-tongued and bored, Zoe lives at her parents' house with Detective Jack Harper and her six-year-old daughter, Meg. Her love of wine and her skin-tight sweatpants suggest she is a woman who peaked in high school. She lets Jack stay with her until he recovers, and a murder in their small town is as exciting and shocking as it gets when she discovers who the victim is. A recurring guest.
