After discrediting hip hop Business mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested this week amid a wave of sexual assault allegations against him, a new docuseries based on Rolling StoneA detailed report has been released about the bad boy who gave himself this nickname.
The documentary will be produced for Investigation Discovery by Maxine Productions (Quiet on the Set: The Dark Side of Children's TV) and IPC in partnership with Rolling Stone Films. Combs’ rise and influence in the music industry and Hollywood will be examined in the multi-part series, set to premiere in 2025 on ID and Max.
The documentary series will feature testimonies from survivors as well as friends and colleagues who knew and worked with Combs as he built his once-untouchable career. According to a press release, the project will also “shed light on the toxic power dynamics that played out in the industry and kept many survivors silent.”
Combs was arrested Monday night and the former billionaire was charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation for the purpose of prostitution. His arrest comes nearly six months after Homeland Security agents raided Combs’ residences in Los Angeles and Miami, and nearly a year after his ex-girlfriend, Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura, filed a lawsuit against Combs in November alleging sex trafficking and sexual assault.

On Tuesday, Combs was denied bail, with the judge citing concerns about his alleged drug use, “anger issues,” and alleged behind-the-scenes efforts to control the outcome of his trial. Prosecutors alleged that his wealth and the severity of the charges make Combs a high flight risk, and that his alleged history of violence and sexual assault make him a danger to the community. They also expressed concern that if released, Combs could interfere with victims and witnesses implicated in the pending racketeering and sex trafficking indictments.
