Kamala Harris celebrated Taylor Swift's endorsement, saying she was “so proud” to have the pop star's backing. WiredAuto-completed interviews series.
The series centers on celebrities answering questions based on Google search results, and it’s no surprise that Swift’s name pops up when you search for Harris these days. Swift announced she was voting for Harris earlier this month, saying the vice president “fights for rights and causes that I think need a warrior to fight for.”
For his part, Harris described Swift as a “wonderful artist” and said: “I really respect the courage she had in her career to stand up for what she believed was right.”
Still, Harris didn’t hesitate to point out the differences between her and Swift: “We were on opposite sides of the Super Bowl last year,” Harris said with a laugh. Harris, who was born and raised in the Bay Area, is a longtime San Francisco 49ers fan, while Swift, of course, supports the Kansas City Chiefs and his friend Travis Kelce.
“But who gets mad at anyone for being loyal to their team, right?” Harris said.
In her endorsement, Swift also said she believes Harris is a “talented and steady leader” and believes “we can accomplish so much more in this country if we have calm leadership, not chaos.” She also celebrated Harris’s selection of Tim Walz as her vice presidential running mate for his record of “defending LGBT rights, IVF, and women’s rights to their own bodies for decades.”
Donald Trump was one of those who was not thrilled with Swift’s endorsement of Harris. Trump initially tried to brush off the loss of the world’s most famous celebrity by calling Swift “a very liberal person” and suggesting she would “pay a very high price in the marketplace.” But he couldn’t help but reveal just how angry he was a few days later when he posted on Truth Social, “I hate Taylor Swift.”
