Simmons) has been kidnapped and it's up to the unlikely team of reluctant bounty hunter Jack O'Malley (Chris Evans) and North Pole security chief Callum Drift (Dwayne Johnson) to bring back St. Nicholas to save Christmas. The Amazon MGM Studios film hits theaters November 15.
The new trailer opens with O'Malley himself being kidnapped. Although he realizes what's happening and defends himself against those trying to kidnap him, he is eventually captured and taken to the North Pole, where Lucy Liu's character Zoe explains the horrific situation: Santa Claus, codenamed “Red One,” has been kidnapped.
“You’re the best tracker in the world, and you’re going to help us find him,” Zoe tells O’Malley. While O’Malley insists he’s working alone, Drift tells him the rescue will be a team effort, including a large, talking polar bear named Garcia. The team battles “very dangerous” kidnappers, who appear to include some evil snowmen and creepy creatures with demonic horns and tails.
The trailer hints at some hidden portal stations found in the toy store's supply closets and various toy transformations, including a toy Hot Wheels car that transforms into a real, full-size car, along with plenty of action added to the Christmas magic.
The film is directed by Jake Kasdan and reunites the director with Johnson, who previously collaborated on the third and fourth parts of Jumanji The film stars Kiernan Shipka, Bonnie Hunt, Kristofer Hivju, Nick Kroll, and Wesley Kimmel.
