Per Deadline, the ‘Untitled Ryan Coogler Event Film,’ which is expected to feature Jordan as twins and involve vampires during the Jim Crow-era South, will be hitting screens on March 7, 2025.

This recently proved to be a very successful weekend for Warner Bros. as Dune: Part Two scored big numbers at the box office when it debuted in the very same frame. In addition to securing a release date, it was also announced that the film would be playing on IMAX screens as well. The Mysterious Ryan Coogler & Michael B. Jordan Project Has Been Building Big Hype in Hollywood

The hype surrounding this mysterious project has been growing since news of it arrived earlier this year. The original idea by Coogler sparked the interest of many in Hollywood when it began floating around and was pitched as a non-franchise genre film that would include Coogler as a writer and director with Jordan taking on the lead role in the film. A big bidding war began for the project soon after and, back in February, it was finally Warner Bros. that came on top to help bring Coogler’s idea to life.

Not much has been officially confirmed about the idea, although some small details have started to emerge about where the film could be headed. The movie is said to include vampires, and it’s set in New Orleans. Other rumors that have been floating around are that it will take place during the Jim Crow-era South.

No other cast or crew announcements have been made about the movie other than Jordan’s involvement and that it will be produced by Coogler alongside Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian with two-time Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Göransson executive producing alongside Rebecca Cho and Will Greenfield. Göransson is no stranger to working with the director, having scored all four of his previous films.

Coogler has so far maintained many of the same collaborators since his big break with 2013’s Fruitvale Station. This is his fifth feature film as a director and so far all of them have involved Jordan and Göransson in some capacity. As a composer, Göransson won his first Academy Award for scoring Black Panther before securing his second Oscar for composing the score for Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.
