Céline Dion ‘So Full of Joy’ After Grand Comeback Olympics Performance


Celine Dion is She is feeling “overwhelmed” after her stunning performance at the Eiffel Tower at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Canadian star shared a sweet message on social media to celebrate the moment as she congratulated the athletes taking part in the Games.

“I am honored to perform tonight at the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony, and I am so happy to be returning to one of my favorite cities! Most of all, I am so happy to celebrate these incredible athletes, with all their stories of sacrifice, determination, pain and perseverance,” Dion wrote.

“You have all been focused on achieving your dreams, and whether you get a medal or not, I hope that being here means that your dream has come true!” she continued. “You should all be proud, we know how hard you have worked to be the best you can be. Stay focused, keep going, my heart goes out to you!”

During her performance on Friday, Dion sang Edith Piaf's hit song “Hymne à L'amour,” or “Hymn to Love,” while standing under the lighting of the six Olympic rings.

Dion's appearance in Paris was a big moment for the singer after she shared that she was diagnosed with stiff person syndrome in December 2022. Last month, the icon said she would return to the stage despite symptoms of the neurological condition.

The opening ceremony also included performances by Lady Gaga who paid tribute to French cabaret icon Zizi Jeanmaire, rapper Rimke, the Théâtre du Châtelet who presented the rock opera Les Mis, and more.
