Riz Ahmed’s Amazon Comedy Series Casts ‘Man Like Mobeen’ Star Guz Khan

Guz Khan has joined the cast of Riz Ahmed's upcoming comedy series on Amazon Prime Video, diverse I have learned.

The show was originally announced in June. Ahmed is the writer, executive producer, co-producer and star of the unnamed half-hour series. According to the official synopsis, the show follows “Shah Latif (Ahmed), a struggling actor on the verge of landing the role of a lifetime, only to find himself thrust into a full-blown existential crisis and a mind-numbing plot twist at the same time.”

Khan will appear in a regular role in the series, but exact details of the character will remain under wraps.

Khan is best known for his work on BBC Three's Man Like Mobeen, which ran for four seasons and is currently awaiting its fifth. Khan starred in the series and was also one of its creators and writers. His other television credits include Our Flag Means Death, The Gentlemen, Taskmaster, The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin, Turn Up Charlie, and Four Weddings and a Funeral. He has also appeared in films such as Army of Thieves, The Bubble, and How to Date Billy Walsh.

Represented by Curtis Brown in the UK and UTA in the US.

Ben Karlin is executive producer and co-producer of the Ahmed series. Ahmed is executive producing with Ali Moore under the Left Handed production banner. Jake Fuller is executive producing for Jax Media, which produces the series with Amazon MGM Studios. Left Handed has a first-look deal with Amazon MGM Studios, under which this show falls.
