‘Acapulco’ Renewed for Season 4 at Apple TV+

Apple TV+ comedy series “Acapulco” has been renewed for a fourth season.

“It’s incredibly exciting that Apple has ordered a fourth season of ‘Acapulco,’” said series star and executive producer Eugenio Derbez. “I’m so grateful to our incredible partners, talented cast and crew, and especially the fans, whose love and support have made this journey possible. It’s rare for shows centered around Latino stories to make it this far, which makes this milestone even more significant. Representation matters, and continuing to share these vibrant stories on the world stage is something Ben Odell and I are incredibly proud of. Thank you for helping us break down barriers and celebrate our culture. We can’t wait to return to Las Colinas for more fun, laughter and heart with all of you!”

The cast of “Acapulco” includes, in addition to Derbez: Fernando Carsa, Damian Alcazar, Enrique Arizón, Camila Perez, Vanessa Pauci, Regina Reynoso, Rafael Alejandro, Jessica Collins, Cord Overstreet, Rafael Cebrian, Regina Orozco, and Carlos Corona. Jaime Camil and Cristo Fernandez guest starred in the third season.

The official description for season three states, “In the current story, an older Maximo (Derbez) finds himself returning to a Las Colinas he no longer recognizes. While in 1985, a younger Maximo (Enrique Arizón) continues to climb the ladder of success while putting at risk all the relationships he has worked so hard to build.”

“We are so grateful to Apple and all of our partners at Lionsgate for giving us the privilege of producing another season of this joyful and hopeful show,” said series co-creator and executive producer Austin Winsberg and showrunner and executive producer Sam Laybourne. “Season 4 only happens when a show has an incredible cast, crew and producers. We couldn’t be more excited to return to Las Colinas and once again collaborate with such a talented, hardworking and kind group of people.”

Acapulco is inspired by the film How to Be a Latin Lover. Weinsberg created the series with Eduardo Cisneros and Jason Schuman. Weinsberg serves as executive producer with Laybourne, Derbez and Ben Odell of 3Pas Studios, Kim, Eric Tannenbaum and Jason Wang of Tannenbaum, and director Jaime Eliezer Karas. Sonia Gambaro of 3Pas is executive producer. Lionsgate Television produces the series for Apple.
