Sequel to the 2011 film The raidAn Indonesian thriller that tells the simple and isolated story of an elite squad tasked with infiltrating a high-rise building run by a ruthless drug lord. Raid 2 The film begins with Iko Uwais' character, Rama, immediately after the events of the first film. Still dirty and bloodied after surviving the eponymous raid thanks to his own special set of skills, the next film sends Rama undercover and greatly expands the martial arts franchise into a sprawling crime epic. A crime epic with lots and lots of fight scenes.
Thanks to the perfect double whammy of director Gareth Evans and star Iko Uwais, Raid 2 A great action movie. The film is 150 minutes long, which allows enough time to delve deeper into what makes Rama tick, as well as showcasing Uwais’ skills and screen presence, while introducing a whole host of other characters. Including a fierce, blind, hammer-wielding assassin and her partner who prefers to use a baseball bat.
But, while the supporting cast is great (The raid Yayan Rohiyan shines as a new character in a poignant and brutal side story that is Uwais. He proves himself more than capable of carrying out the task of embodying this epic. One is left wondering why Hollywood failed to find the right role for him.

While you may have missed the sequel when it was released, now is the time to stop everything you are doing and enjoy the brutal prison battle between one man and several people, the heartbreaking last stand by Yayan Ruhian, the wonderful duo of “Baseball Bat Man” and “Hammer Girl,” a long high-speed car chase that will make you wonder how such a cinematic feat was ever pulled off, a heart-wrenching kitchen fight, and the terrifying action sequences.
Since its release Raid 2An English-language remake of the first film is currently in the works, and director Gareth Evans also answers questions about directing a third installment. While neither project has reached maturity yet, we're not sure they really need to be. After all, you can't improve on perfection.
