Alan Walker, Pritam Join Forces for ‘Children of the Sun’

Norwegian DJ and musician Alan Walker and Indian composer Pritam are set to release their first collaboration, “Children of the Sun,” via Warner Music India. The song, which also features vocals by Vishal Mishra, blends Eastern and Western musical influences.

Walker is best known for his chart-topping hit “Faded”, and has become one of the most popular electronic music producers. He has won the Spellemannprisen, often referred to as the Norwegian Grammy Awards, the Cannes Lions, and Best Norwegian Act at the MTV European Music Awards.

Pritam is one of the most important musicians in the Bollywood music industry, having composed music for over 100 films including recent hits like 'Dunky', 'Animal' and 'Brahmastra'.

The idea for the collaboration stemmed from a meeting in 2019 during Walker’s stop on the Mumbai tour, which led to a friendship between the two artists. Walker, inspired by his travels to India, came up with a melody that resonated with Pritam, eventually leading to the new single.

The song combines elements of 80s synthwave with Walker's electronic style and Pritam's composition. Its lyrics, which revolve around the symbolism of the sun, aim to convey themes of human connection. The song features a children's choir and is described as a tribute to the next generation.

“I first met Ritam in 2019, and since then we’ve stayed in touch and worked on a song together,” Walker said. “I’m really happy with the way it came out – both the message and how it brought together different voices and languages.”

“Music has the power to heal, inspire and unite,” Pritam added. “I hope that ‘Children of the Sun’ will touch the hearts of listeners around the world and convey a message of hope and unity.”

Coinciding with the release of the single on September 26, Walker will embark on a 10-city Walkerworld Tour in India, which will start in Kolkata on September 27 and end in Hyderabad on October 20, with over 100,000 fans expected to attend. This tour is one of Walker’s most extensive tours in India.
