Amish Tripathi, Nouredine Abboud Unite for ‘Bharat’ Gaming Franchise

Tara Gaming Limited has revealed plans to launch Bharatvarsha / The Age of Bharat, an ambitious entertainment game set in ancient India. The project, which aims to launch its first AAA fantasy video game by late 2026, brings together best-selling author Amish Tripathi and veteran game producer Nouredine Abboud.

AAA (triple AAA) games are high-budget, high-profile titles that are typically produced and distributed by major publishers.

The project seeks to harness Indian heritage narratives in digital interactive entertainment, with plans to expand into films, TV series and merchandise. Tripathi, known for the Shiva trilogy and the Ram Chandra series, will lead narrative development, while Abood, whose credits include Ghost Recon Wildlands, brings 20 years of experience in the gaming industry, including with Ubisoft.

Former Indian politician Jayant Sinha rounds out the founding team, bringing his business expertise. Tulsia, a Mumbai-based talent agency, is partnering to advise on talent acquisition and strategic relationships. Sumit Jamwar, a former McKinsey consultant and technology entrepreneur, is an advisor to the board.

The company has already assembled a team of 100 developers across its global offices in Paris, Montreal and soon Mumbai and the Middle East. Tara Gaming aims to fill what it sees as a gap in the AAA gaming landscape that highlights Indian heritage, and tap into India’s rapidly expanding economy and growing digital entertainment industry.

“Games at their core are not just about playing, they are also about deep storytelling. They are even bigger than movies. And there is no better way to explore storytelling than in the fascinating world of ancient India,” Tripathi said.

“I look forward to players around the world being able to experience the immersive world we are creating, as we invite more adventurers to join us on this epic journey,” Abboud added.

“Bharatvarsha will be an amazing cultural world for everyone to discover,” Sinha said. “Our characters are compelling, the depth of the narrative is unique, and we have assembled a top-notch technical team to make this a reality.”

“Bharatvarsha will not only showcase the mainstream potential of Indian stories in video games, but will also serve as a gateway to the country’s rich mythology for a global audience,” added Tulsia CEO Datta Dev.
