Variety and Chanel’s Filmmakers Dinner brought together a host of Hollywood stars and creatives including Andrew Garfield, Elizabeth Olsen, Nightpatch director Marielle Heller (who attended the event moments before her film premiered), Danielle Deadwyler, Barry Keoghan and more for a lively night at the heart of the Toronto Film Festival. The atmosphere was lively, with drinks flowing, delicious food on hand and a spontaneous game of “Two Truths and a Lie.”

The event, held at Soho House Toronto, included a cocktail hour downstairs before a three-course dinner on the second floor of the social club. Inside, the cast of the highly anticipated “Saturday Night” — Corey Michael Smith, Lamorne Morris, Ella Hunt and Dylan O’Brien — hung out ahead of Tuesday night’s premiere. The film, a hot title at the Toronto International Film Festival, takes place in the chaotic 90 minutes before the first episode of “SNL” aired in 1975. The group mingled with fellow “Veep” comedian Tony Hale, who was also in town to promote his new film, “Sketch.”

Heller entered with her husband, director Jorma Taccone, who directed The Lonely Island and MacGruber. Also in attendance were Conclave star Isabella Rossellini, Baby Reindeer star Nava Mao, and Deadwyler, who is starring in two Toronto International Film Festival films, 40 Acres and The Piano Lesson.

At the bar, stars including Himesh Patel, Edgar Ramirez, Amanda Collin and Leila George posed for photos. Elsewhere, “The White Lotus” star Beatriz Grano played “Two Truths and a Lie” with “Borat Subsistence Movie” and “The Intern” star Maria Bakalova, “The Fire Within” director Rachel Morrison, agent Tom Jiggo and the author of this article. Guess which one of them might or might not be a competitive tennis player.
