When Dee Boze opens her first restaurant as head chef, she gathers fresh herbs and other plants, despite a neighbor's warnings not to eat anything from the previous owner's garden. Soon, mold covers her meals, and a terrifying reptile escapes from a dinner guest's plate. The horror-thriller premieres October 3 on Prime Video.

House of spoilsThe film follows a chef who “faces kitchen chaos, a questionable investor, and self-doubt,” according to the synopsis, while the former landlord of the property where the restaurant is located threatens to destroy her restaurant. Directors Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Cruddy told she Cole added that the film is about “the pain and growth that comes with becoming a leader and trying to find your voice.” He added that DeBose didn't hesitate to get into character.
“This was a huge challenge to shoot,” Cole added. “It was like she was in every scene. It’s dirty, disgusting. In some of these scenes, she was literally crawling in the dirt over and over again one night, and there was a lot we were asking of her.”
Other cast members include Marton Csokas (Equalizer), Barbie Ferreira (no), Karan Building (Darjeeling Company Limited), and Arian Moayed (succession).
Earlier this year, De Boze hosted the Tony Awards, which she has directed for the past three years. In 2023, she hosted an unscripted, improvised performance amid the writers’ strike, which included a wordless acrobatic dance. De Boze is also known for her acting roles in West Side Story, Hamilton, Wish, and Argyle.
