Beyoncé Introduces ‘Superstars’ Team USA at Paris Olympics

wearing red, In white and blue, Beyoncé gave a stunning welcome to the athletes competing at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The icon said in the promotional video, which included the song “YA YA” by cowboy carter“These hopes and dreams, these stars that represent us.”

The video, which aired after the opening ceremony, introduced the fearless competitors representing Team USA this year including Caeleb Dressel, Shakari Richardson, Noah Lyles, Katie Ledecky and, of course, four-time Olympic gold medalist gymnast Simone Biles.

“We have superstars and legends. We have dreamers who fought their whole lives to get here. Who gave it all up for one chance, and they did it,” Beyoncé said as footage of the athletes graced the screen. “That pride and joy? That’s what makes me root for this team. That’s what makes me believe in this team. That’s why I can’t wait to see what they do over the next 16 days. America, give it all for Team USA, the best of the best. What a vision to see. What a team to believe in. What a night to celebrate.”

Beyoncé's music was also recently featured in the official campaign launch video for presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. Her 2016 song “Freedom” debuted at No. 1, lasting one minute and 19 seconds.

Earlier on Friday, the opening ceremony kicked off with a dazzling display of creativity, talent and innovation. From Lady Gaga’s stunning tribute to French cabaret icon Zizi Jeanmaire on the Seine, to Celine Dion’s stunning comeback, to a headless Marie Antoinette backing a rock opera performance of Les Misérables by heavy metal band Gojira, the ceremony marked a historic moment.
