BTS member RM combines his identity as BTS's leader and as an ordinary person as Kim Namjoon in a new solo documentary, R M: right people in the wrong placewhich was announced on Tuesday.
The film follows his journey of self-discovery as he works on his second solo album. Right place, wrong person The documentary chronicles the eight months leading up to RM’s military enlistment. (RM enlisted in December 2023 alongside BTS singers Jimin, Jungkook, and V.) The documentary takes viewers to Seoul, Tokyo, and London, where the photos and music videos for his second album were shot. The film will be directed by Lee Seok-joon, who produced the music videos for BTS rapper J-Hope’s “Arson” and “More.”

RM's announcement of the documentary comes after a number of visual projects his fellow BTS members have embarked on in recent months. Last month, BTS singer Jung Kook announced his own documentary Jungkook: I still am, Which addresses the pressures he faced when he went solo, is set to be released on September 18. Jungkook and Jimin also star in the eight-part series. Are you sure?! Which premiered on August 8 on Disney+, where the two members go on adventures in New York, Jeju Island in South Korea, and Sapporo in Japan.
Megan Thee Stallion also announced a collaborative single titled “Neva Play” with RM on Sunday, set to be released on September 6.
The documentary is scheduled to premiere at the 29th Busan International Film Festival. Although the premiere date has not yet been announced, the film festival will be held in South Korea from October 2 to 11.
