Camila Cabello isn't ready to say goodbye C, kisses and hugs Her era isn't over yet, though the lyrics of her new song are directed at someone she'd rather leave behind. The pop star announced Friday that she'll follow up her fourth album with a single titled “Godspeed” on Sept. 6.
“I wish you all the best, but away from me,” she captioned a video announcing the upcoming single. The jaw-dropping clip shows the singer in a dark pool at night, wearing a sparkling silver dress.
“It's about time,” producer Jasper Harris commented.
The timing of the single comes after fans speculated that Sabrina Carpenter was aiming some of the lyrics from Short and sweet Towards Cabello and the two women's relationships with Shawn Mendes. Fans have drawn parallels between Cabello's relationship with Shawn Mendes. C, kisses and hugs The lyrics include “If she's so amazing, why you on this side of town? / If you love her so much, what are you trying to figure out here?” in “June Gloom” and Carpenter's lines about his ex-girlfriend in “Taste” and “Coincidence.”
Cabello released her fourth album C, kisses and hugs In June, the album includes the song “Hot Uptown” with Drake, the song “He Knows” with Lil Nas X, and the single “I Luv It.”

The new song will arrive just in time for Cabello's performance at the MTV VMAs the following week, where it is nominated for Best Pop Song.
