Colin Jost To Host New “Pop Culture Jeopardy” Spinoff

Colin Jost is coming to Danger, Amazon's Prime Video service announced on Wednesday, Saturday Night LiveThe Weekend Update co-host is set to host the livestream event. The danger of popular culture! spin off.

“What it is: I'm excited,” Jost said in a statement.

The spinoff of the classic game show was announced in May, and as its title suggests, instead of focusing on the more popular Jeopardy categories, the new show will focus more specifically on pop culture like movies, TV, music and Broadway. Contestants on the show will be divided into teams of three and “will need to be experts in categories from Alternative Rock to The Avengers; Broadway to MMA; and Gen Z to Zendaya,” according to the show’s press release. The show is expected to begin filming in August.

Jost has expanded his duties outside the Weekend Update desk this year to host a growing array of events. He hosted the White House Correspondents’ Dinner last February, replacing a series of Daily Offer Stars and become the first SNL A cast member who has hosted the annual dinner since Cecily Strong in 2015, Jost has been widely circulated in recent days while working as a surfing reporter at the Olympics in Tahiti, posting a photo to his Instagram account this week of his injured toes.

Jost, a Harvard graduate, joined SNL As a writer in 2005, he has been a co-host of Weekend Update since 2014 alongside fellow co-host Michael Che.
