Fred Armisen and Elton John will appear at City of Hope's annual Spirit of Life concert honoring AEG Chairman Jay Marciano.
Conan O'Brien and David Blaine have been selected to host two of three special benefit dinners to benefit the City of Hope Cancer Research and Treatment Foundation.
The dinners will take place in October and November, with Chef Evan Funke officiating the third event. The dinner series revolves around the City of Hope’s annual Spirit of Life Award, which this year will be presented to AEG Chairman Jay Marciano.
The dinners will be held at Funke's, the restaurant of the same name in Beverly Hills. The chef will host the first dinner on Oct. 17, where he will preview the menu he created for the Spirit of Life gala, where Marciano will be honored. Blaine will host the second event on Oct. 21, and O'Brien will host the final dinner of the series on Nov. 19.
The Spirit of Life concert will take place on October 22 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Fred Armisen will host the concert, while Blaine and Elton John will perform, and Funke will provide the food.
Invitations to the three dinners will be auctioned off on Charity Buzz, with proceeds going to City of Hope. Two seats to the event will also be auctioned off.
“I am honored that these amazing individuals have dedicated their time and talents to three unforgettable evenings in support of City of Hope,” Marciano said in a statement. “Providing people with lifelong experiences is at the heart of what we do: connecting them with magic, passion and energy to create moments that no one will ever forget. Doing so in service of City of Hope’s work to end cancer makes it even more meaningful.”
