Daisy Ridley will receive the Hollywood Rising Star Award at the Deauville Film Festival, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Ridley, who recently revealed in Women's Health that she was diagnosed with Graves' disease in September 2023, is expected to attend the ceremony in Deauville. She will follow in the footsteps of Emilia Clarke (2023), Ana de Armas (2022), Paul Dano (2012), Robert Pattinson (2015), as well as Ryan Gosling and Jessica Chastain, who received the Hollywood Rising Star Award for the first time in 2011.
Ridley is best known for her role as Rey in the Star Wars trilogy, in which she starred opposite Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, and John Boyega.
In addition to her blockbusters, Ridley has starred in Kenneth Branagh's Murder on the Orient Express, critically acclaimed independent films such as Claire McCarthy's Ophelia, and most recently Rachel Lambert's drama Sometimes I Think About Dying, as well as Sam Yates' Magpie, which premiered at this year's SXSW.
