Darius Rucker Drug Charges: Musician Pleads No Contest


The musician was stopped due to his cards expiring in February 2023 and was detained a year later after an arrest warrant was issued against him.

Darius Rucker pleaded guilty to drug possession, casual exchange and violation of the Registration Act. The musician was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days in jail by a judge in Williamson County, Tennessee.

In a statement to WKRN NetworkAttorneys Mark L. Puryear III and Richard N. Gossler, who are legally representing Rucker, thanked Judge Tom Taylor and the Attorney General's Office “for the time and care they have taken in reviewing the details of this case and its final disposition.”

Rocker was arrested earlier this year after a warrant was issued for his arrest in December 2023. He was released on $10,500 bail the same day. The arrest was related to a police stop in February 2023 when the singer was stopped for expired license plates. “Darius looks forward to working through this probation period and putting this behind him,” his attorneys said.
