Evans got his start in the Marvel universe playing Johnny Storm, a member of the Fantastic Four, the daredevil who wields the Human Torch himself. In an Instagram post on Wednesday, July 31, Evans revealed a behind-the-scenes photo (below) along with special thanks to Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Shawn Levy. Evans wrote (via Instagram):
“Thank you to @vancityreynolds, @thehughjackman and @slevydirect for letting me be a part of this amazing film!
They are three of the nicest men you will ever meet.
Special thanks to Ryan
To make it all happen.
“Playing with Johnny again was a dream come true and he will always have a special place in my heart.”
Evans played the superhero brother of the Invisible Woman (Jessica Alba) in both films. The Fantastic Four (2005) and its only sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver SurferFour years after the sequel, Evans was recast in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and led the 2011 film Captain America: The First Avenger.

Deadpool and Wolverine The movie remains the #1 movie in the world. And while the film lives up to its fun and violence, one of the most interesting aspects of watching a superhero movie for the first time is being amazed by all the amazing and surprising scenes. But if Chris Evans and Ryan Reynolds weren’t friends, Johnny Storm might not have appeared out of nowhere, hiding from Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin). Evans said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:
“Honestly, Ryan is probably the only guy I would do that for because he has the golden touch.
His self-awareness makes him almost invincible. He tells the joke before the audience has a chance to tell it, so if you're going to bring back a character, you have to find a way to make it work.
“Ryan's sense of humor makes everything work so well, it automatically makes you feel safe.”
Evans continued (below):
“I just had to fly really fast, shoot for a few days and then fly. For me, it was very easy. […]
Primarily because where we found Johnny, he was supposed to be in more dilapidated condition, so the costume didn't have to be in perfect condition.
In those first two movies, Marvel was still trying to find its footing, so everything had to be very precise, and there were a lot of meetings and a lot of feedback.
It was like, “Yes, we know that. We saw it.”
