Channing Tatum He finally got the chance to play card-carrying Remy LeBeau aka Gambit in the hit MCU film. Deadpool and WolverineAs one of the big names featured in the film, Tatum's appearance raised questions about a possible future for the character after his brief appearance in the multiverse film.
The reason behind most of the speculation about Gambit's future is based on a clip shown during the post-credits scene in Deadpool and Wolverine. While Ryan Reynolds, the Merc with the Mouth, is busy explaining how he didn't cause Johnny Storm's horrific death, in the background, on a TVA screen, Gambit is shown surviving the battle against Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin) and her small army. It's a quick, you'll-miss-it moment, but it's enough to convince some fans that Gambit hasn't played his cards yet.
Speaking to Collider, Tatum fanned the flames of speculation a bit more, raising questions about where he thinks Gambit is now, and what he might be doing in the future. He said:
I think at that moment, if I had to guess, he's definitely still in the void. But there's something going on at that moment that maybe no one knows yet.

No actor who hopes to join the MCU permanently can afford to give it all away when it comes to speculation about future appearances, and Tatum, despite expressing his desire to make the new Gambit project a reality, has managed to stay on the speculative side of things. When pressed for a more specific answer on whether Gambit could reappear in the MCU, he continued in a deliberately vague manner:
“Again, nobody knows. Nobody knows. I mean, literally, I could never be in another Marvel movie again, and it wouldn’t surprise me because I had it in my hands before, and it’s gone. I always put a grain of salt in it, but I hope Kevin [Feige] He will let me in.”
Gambit's possible future in the MCU
Tatum takes on everyone's favorite Cajun mutant. Deadpool and Wolverine It has been long anticipated. He was initially slated to play Gambit in X-Men: The Last StandWhen that failed, it was supposed to debut in X-Men Origins: WolverineBy the time Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, all hopes of Tatum wearing the famous Gambit coat had all but vanished.
Gambit is just one of several short-lived characters that many fans now believe may get another chance at glory based on the events of Deadpool and Wolverine. Deadpool (Reynolds) pleads with the Tennessee Valley Authority to give his fellow superheroes a “second chance at life,” and many fans have taken this as a literal plea to Marvel Studios to let Gambit, Elektra, Blade, and X-23 get another go at it.
