Deadpool & Wolverine’s Ryan Reynolds Opens Up About MCU Movie’s Success in Heartfelt Message

Ryan Reynolds Share an honest reflection on his incredible journey from taking on the role of Deadpool to his massive success in the film. Deadpool and WolverineWith the new Marvel film making more in its second weekend than most films make in their first outing, and surpassing the box office totals of Reynolds' previous films, the actor has reclaimed everything that led to one of the biggest films of his career.

Deadpool and Wolverine This is one of those movies that only comes along when the cinematic gods allow the right actors to come together at the right time and make the right movie. Between giving fans so many moments to enjoy, and delivering an emotional, funny and, above all, free show, it’s no surprise that the film has exceeded all expectations. In his Instagram post, Reynolds said:

“It’s been almost a decade since we’ve been able to do that. 10 years ago, we would have been treated to the numbers that BONKERS did in its second weekend as an opening weekend. It’s hard to wrap our heads around the way that Deadpool & Wolverine managed to capture that moment. It feels like it’s happening to someone else. Anyway, making these movies was more fun than anyone has any right to have. I can’t help but look back a little bit.

“There are too many people who have made pivotal creative contributions to mention on this list, but obviously my longtime writing colleagues, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (without whom there would have been no Deadpool), Tim Miller, Mr. David Leitch (who also made Fall Guy — one of the best movies of the summer), 20th Century Fox, George Dewey and Kevin Feige. And last on the list but in my heart: my creative and spiritual (and almost literal) brothers, Shawn Levy and Hugh Jackman. This has always been a game of inches, and the tenacity we have brought to this film (especially in post-production, which is another stage of the writing process) is something I will never forget.”

Ryan Reynolds Is Thankful For The People Who Really Matter – Fans

While Reynolds has a lot of love for those who helped get Deadpool and Wolverine After crossing the finish line and hitting theaters, he reserved his final words for the people who matter most to any film’s success: the fans who turned out in their millions to see the film around the world. Reynolds concluded his post:

“Thank you to everyone who came out to see this movie. Thank you to everyone who saw it multiple times, got to know new characters, and paid tribute to some familiar faces we love from the past. This movie was so exciting.”

After the year Marvel Studios had in 2023, no one would have believed that they would now be looking to deliver one of the biggest films of the year in 2024, and one of the biggest MCU films ever. And as the records continue to fall, Deadpool and Wolverine The film has dominated the box office for a second weekend, easily beating out all other films currently in theaters. It would be optimistic but foolish to think of countering the power of this historic return to form from the Marvel machine.
