‘Dirty Pop,’ ‘The Decameron,’ ‘Non Negotiable’ Fuel Streaming Ratings

Online viewership numbers are expected to see a summer dip from July 16 to August 1, as total minutes watched for top original series and movies online are down from recent weeks.

Netflix’s “Dirty Pop: The Boy Band Scam” and “The Decameron” showed some courage by making it onto Luminate’s list of the top 10 original series for streaming. Paramount+’s “The Mayor of Kingstown” also got a boost during the week for its penultimate episode of Season 3. On the movie front, Netflix’s romantic comedy “Find Me Falling” topped the list for the second week in a row. Spanish film “Non Negotiable” had a big first week on Netflix.

Peacock’s Love Island USA knocked Netflix’s Cobra Kai off the top spot among streaming original series with 386.5 million minutes watched — a significant drop from the previous week when the finale pushed the series to 1.1 billion minutes watched. Dirty Pop, a documentary series about music entrepreneur Lou Pearlman, was strong enough to take second place with 320.5 million minutes watched during its first full week.

Apple TV+’s “Presumed Innocent” gained momentum, rising to No. 3 after six weeks with 306.5 million minutes watched. “The Decameron,” a historical drama that debuted July 25, racked up 236.3 million minutes watched, placing fifth behind “Cobra Kai” (242.5 million).

The comic book drama “Vikings: Vahalla” (179.5 million views) and the live-action football series “Receiver” (149.7 million views) maintained their grip on the top 10.

The surprise in theaters was “Non Negotiable,” a Mexican action comedy directed by Juan Tarato, which racked up 147.6 million minutes watched and 1.6 million views after its July 26 release. “Knox Goes Away,” a crime thriller directed by and starring Michael Keaton, came in sixth with 123.2 million minutes watched and 1.1 million views after its July 26 premiere on Max.

The romantic comedy “Find Me Falling” remained at No. 1 with 309.3 million minutes watched and 3.3 million viewers. “Hillbilly Elegy,” based on the memoir of 2016 vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance, held onto the No. 2 spot for a second straight week with 197.9 million minutes watched and 1.7 million viewers.

Disney+'s “Descendants: The Rise of Red” impressed, dropping just one spot in its third full week since release to fourth place with 141.8 million minutes watched and 1.5 million viewers.
