Doctor Who Showrunner Teases ‘Best Stuff Ever’ Coming in Season 15


One of the most interesting characters in the final season of Doctor from It was Mrs. Flood, without a doubt. Anita Dobson portrayed Flood, who seemed more than she let on, and now from Show Director Russell T Davies He teases that Dobson's character has “the best stuff ever” coming next season, while simultaneously hinting at her possible true identity.




Speaking to SFX Magazine (via GamesRadar), Davies talked about Dobson's appearance in Season 14 of Doctor fromwith one scene in particular in the last episode being mentioned, Empire of DeathShe broke the fourth wall to announce to the audience that the Doctor's story “ends in absolute horror.” Thanks to her appearance, Davies said, fans will certainly be speculating about her true identity.

“She made us all laugh out loud at that scene, she is so adorable. I promise you next year will have great answers and great solutions. Maybe because she is wearing white fur, people will think she is… [Time Lord companion] Romana, isn't it?

Romana first appeared in 1978, as a Time Lady and companion to Tom Baker's Fourth Doctor. Like the Doctor himself, she was able to regenerate over time, with Mary Tamm and Lalla Ward playing the characters respectively. She has not appeared on screen since the 1993 30th Anniversary Special, Dimensions in timeAlthough Romana has appeared in numerous radio dramas, novels, and comics over the years.

Since Mrs. Flood has knowledge of the Doctor, the TARDIS, and Sotik's return, it makes sense that she's Romana, but if you were hoping for any definitive answers from Davies, you won't get them. Basically, the show's executive producer said fans will have to tune in next season to find out, calling Dobson's upcoming story “the best story ever.”

'Doctor Who' is more divisive than ever

Aside from Mrs. Flood, the final season of Doctor from It was one of the most divisive events in recent memory. From the return of Davis and the Doctor as black people, to the introduction of the show’s first transgender character in actress Yasmine Finney, people loved nothing more than to complain about season 14, and tout it as the end of the series. While Davies admitted that the ratings weren't exactly what everyone had hoped for, it's clear that Doctor from The series is in a rebuilding phase. Despite the backlash and hate the new season received online, it managed to debut with a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score among critics, and while that number now stands at 94% after its conclusion, it is still a huge achievement for a long-running series.
