Donald Trump Falsely Claims Taylor Swift Endorsed Him With AI Images

Donald Trump posted a series of AI-generated images to his Truth Social account falsely claiming that Taylor Swift had endorsed him for president.

On Sunday night, Trump posted several screenshots of X posts showing women wearing T-shirts that read “Swifties for Trump.” Many of the images appear to have been doctored, with one screenshot showing a satirical news article claiming that Swift’s Vienna show cancellations due to a foiled terror plot prompted the Swifts to seek refuge with Trump. Another screenshot is of Taylor Swift Photoshopped to look like Uncle Sam next to the message: “Taylor wants you to vote for Donald Trump.”

Trump wrote in his comment on the post: “I accept!”

Swift's representatives did not immediately respond. diverseRequest comment.

The pop star has yet to put her name behind a presidential candidate for the 2024 election, but she endorsed Joe Biden in 2020 and criticized Trump in a tweet that year after his response to the George Floyd protests.

“After stoking the flames of white supremacy and racism throughout your presidency, do you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence? ‘When the looting starts, the shooting starts’?” Swift wrote. “We will vote you out in November.”

Trump previously spoke about Swift in the book “The Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass,” written by Ramin Setoudeh, editor-in-chief of Variety magazine, calling her “beautiful” but “liberal.”

“I think she’s beautiful — very beautiful! I find her very beautiful. I think she’s liberal. Maybe she doesn’t like Trump. I hear she’s very talented,” he said. “I think she’s very beautiful, actually — extraordinarily beautiful!”

As the Democratic National Convention gets underway in Chicago this week, Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to accept the party’s nomination with the help of a slew of celebrity guests. Mindy Kaling, Kerry Washington, Tony Goldwyn and Ana Navarro are all set to host the event, with other high-profile appearances throughout the event.
