Donald Trump Slams Taylor Swift for Endorsing Kamala Harris

Donald Trump called into Fox & Friends the morning after his first presidential debate against Kamala Harris and commented on Taylor Swift's endorsement of his opponent's campaign. The music icon officially endorsed Harris for president within a half-hour of the debate. Swift also criticized Trump for using a doctored photo of her earlier to make it appear she was endorsing him instead.

“Well, I actually like Mrs. Mahomes a lot more. If you want to know the truth. She’s a huge Trump fan. I wasn’t a Taylor Swift fan,” Trump said when asked about Swift’s endorsement of Harris. “It was just a matter of time. You can’t endorse Biden. But she’s a very liberal person. She always seems to be for Democrats and she probably pays a price for it in the market. But I like Brittany. Brittany is great. She’s the person I like more than Taylor Swift. The wife of a great quarterback. I think she’s great.”

Brittany Mahomes is married to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Patrick is close friends and teammates with Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelce. Swift and Brittany were photographed cuddling and being friendly at the U.S. Open earlier this month, sparking controversy on social media because Brittany is a Trump supporter and Swift has yet to endorse any candidate.

In her endorsement of Kamala Harris, Swift praised the current vice president, writing that she “fights for rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to defend. I think she is a talented and steady leader and I think we can accomplish a lot in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”

“I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election,” Swift continued. “I will be voting for Kamala Harris because she is fighting for rights and issues that I think need a warrior to fight for. I think she is a talented and steady leader and I think we can accomplish so much more in this country if we have calm leadership and not chaos. I am encouraged and impressed by her choice of Tim Walz, who has been an advocate for LGBT rights, IVF, and women’s rights to their own bodies for decades.”

Walz responded to Swift's endorsement by saying he was “very grateful.” He encouraged Swift to visit Harris' website to learn more about how to support the campaign.
