Drake and OVO-affiliated band PartyNextDoor have announced plans to release a collaborative album later this year. The duo revealed the upcoming album at a PartyNextDoor concert in their hometown of Toronto on Friday, where Drake appeared on stage as a surprise guest.
“On behalf of myself and Party, we’ve been working on something for y’all,” Drake told the crowd. “So, get the summer done, and do what you gotta do. I know you’re all out there. When it gets a little chilly, PartyNextDoor and Drake’s album will be waiting for you there.”
While the party was for PartyNextDoor, attendees enjoyed a nearly hour-long surprise set by Drake, who according to painting Focusing on the R&B-leaning tracks in his catalog, including a live debut of the Plain White T's-inspired “Wah Gwan Delilah”:
PartyNextDoor was the first to sign to Drake's OVO Sound label, and has collaborated with the rapper frequently over the past decade, including on hits like “Come and See Me” and “Loyal,” as well as Drake's EPs like “Wednesday Night Interlude,” “Members Only” and “With You.” However, the upcoming album marks the first time the two artists have worked together on a full-length album.
PartyNextDoor has released their latest album Party Next Door 4 In April. With the exception of Drake's season of parody songs and a guest appearance by Camila Cabello, the rapper released his latest album For all dogs In 2023. Prior to that, Drake collaborated with 21 Savage on their collaborative album Her loss In 2022.
