Drake fans (and haters, we think) got 100 gigabytes — yes, 100 gigabytes — of Drake-related data to sift through on Tuesday. The rapper randomly posted the footage to a website called “100gigs.org,” which included a video of him revealing his desire for Future to sing his biggest hit, “Hotline Bling.”
A series of videos from the making of the song show Drake smoking a hookah in the studio while producing the song, with Drake listening to the song, commenting on it and being moved by it while making it.
“It's a melody but it's a vibe. When I was writing it, I wrote it as a Shy Glizzy song… That's why I was wondering if we should put Future on this song,” he says in a video posted online.
“Me and the future are in this…” he repeats, before someone else in the studio responds, “You’ll have to wait.”
In another clip from “Hotline Bling,” we hear Drake explain the inspiration behind the song's title and how it came about from a booty call.
“We were sleeping together in bed. We just finished having sex and all of a sudden her phone blew up, so I saved her name in my phone as ‘Hotline Bling,’” Drake recounted. “That was always her name in my phone. Hotline Bling is such a weird name, it should be my stage name.”
“If I was a dance artist, I would be Hotline Bling,” he joked in the video.
