Vinyl lovers from all over the world will share and discuss their record collections in the new book, Dust & Grooves Volume 2: Further Adventures in Record CollectingIt is scheduled to arrive on October 15.

The new book comes from photographer and publisher Elon Pease, who released the first book Dust and grooves This book was released in 2014. This book combines photographic essays written by Paz with in-depth interviews with individual collectors, artists, DJs and producers.

Other Adventures in Record CollectingAs its title suggests, this book expands on its original idea. While the first volume focused largely on the collections themselves, the new volume will shine a light on the people who assembled these libraries, the stories behind the discs, and the various vinyl communities around the world.

Renowned DJ and producer Prince Paul wrote the foreword to the book, which features more than 150 collectors, including artists like A-Trak, Mayer Hawthorne, Dam-Funk, Kid Koala, and Eric Andre. The book also features a host of female artists and collectors—Paola Ponti, Jane Remasters, and Coco Maria, to name a few—who are changing a world long dominated by men.

Other chapters will highlight the collections of celebrities such as the late BBC radio DJ John Peel and filmmaker/DJ/musician/punk pioneer Don Letts. They will include a wealth of vinyl stories from around the world, such as: a record collector’s attempt to secure a copy of every album featuring Ron Carter, the world record holder for “most recorded jazz player in history”; a collector’s hunt for extremely rare records released by small labels in the 1970s as a way to exploit tax loopholes; and a journey through Jazz Kisa, Japan’s unique café culture dedicated to listening to jazz.
