Eddie Redmayne Is an Elusive Assassin

Eddie Redmayne plays a lone assassin who's hard to catch in Peacock and Sky's upcoming series “Day of the Jackal,” the first trailer for which was revealed during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics on Friday night.

The series revolves around the Jackal (Redmayne), a hitman who makes his living by executing killings for the highest price, according to the series synopsis. “But after his latest kill, he meets his nemesis, a tough British intelligence officer (Lashana Lynch), who begins to track the Jackal in a thrilling chase across Europe, leaving destruction in her wake.”

The extensive trailer shows Redmayne transforming into multiple disguises, shooting at targets from rooftops and rappelling down buildings. A female voice in the trailer says, “Who exactly is this guy?” Redmayne replies, “You know who I am.”

Redmayne also serves as executive producer on The Day of the Jackal, alongside writer Ronan Bennett and director Brian Kirk. Other executive producers include Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant of Carnival Films, Sam Howell of Sky Studios, and Sue Nigel. Frederick Forsyth serves as consulting producer, and Chris Hall serves as producer.

The cast includes Ursula Corbero, Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Chukwudi Iwuji, Leah Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura, Jonjo O'Neill, Nick Blood, Soleil Remi and Florissa Camara.

“Day of the Fox” premieres on Peacock in the US and Sky in the UK on November 7.
