“Eric” and “Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult” were the two most-watched original series in the U.S. during the week of May 31-June 6.
“Eric,” Netflix’s Benedict Cumberbatch-led limited series, had the highest number of minutes watched in its first full week of availability, clocking in at 1.1 billion, while the TikTok docuseries followed at 714.6 million minutes watched. While both demonstrated strong viewership, “Eric” took first place thanks to the benefit of its five-plus-hour runtime; in views, “Dancing for the Devil” hit an estimated 4.4 million people, while “Eric” came in second with 3.3 million.
In terms of minutes watched and views, both titles edged out “Bridgerton” Season 3, which has dominated the charts since its debut. With 432.3 million minutes watched, the Regency-era drama was the No. 4 series in its third week of availability, ranking just behind “Geek Girl” (439.7 million), though “Bridgerton” did get more views (2 million vs. 1.3 million). Season 3 will soon see a bump, however, with four more episodes set to drop on June 13.
The two previous “Bridgerton” seasons continued to rank (Season 2 at No. 5 with 287.1 million minutes watched; Season 1 at No. 7 with 255.3 million), as did “Under the Bridge” (No. 6 with 257.8 million) and “Evil” (No. 8 with 231.2 million).
Two TV titles appeared on the chart for the first time: New Star Wars series “The Acolyte,” which landed at No. 9 with 210 million minutes watched in the first three days of availability for Episodes 1 and 2, and Spanish series “Raising Voices” at the bottom with 203.9 million minutes watched in its first week.
With 432.4 million minutes watched, Jennifer Lopez’s “Atlas” remained No. 1 on the movies chart for the second week in a row. In second place was “Colors of Evil: Red” with 408.1 million minutes, though it incrementally led the chart in views (just above 3.6 million for “Red” vs. just below it for “Atlas”).
“Die Hart 2: Die Harter” took third place with 225.1 million minutes watched and 2.4 million views, followed by “Under Paris” with 167.2 million minutes and 1.7 million views. “Mother of the Bride” remained on the chart, this time at No. 5 with 136.2 million minutes watched and 1.5 million views.
The rest of the chart sat at or below 100 million minutes watched and below 1 million views: “Bionic,” “Thelma the Unicorn,” “The Idea of You,” “The Blue Angels” and “Unfrosted.”
