On the heels of the new Batman animated series, Target has launched a limited-edition Batman and Robin graphic novel with an exclusive cover.

“Batman: Caped Crusader,” which premiered on Prime Video on August 1, follows Bruce Wayne and his “lone wolf crusade for justice” as Batman. But as the series description notes, Batman “attracts unlikely allies within the Gotham City Police Department and City Hall” and “his heroic actions lead to deadly and unexpected consequences.”

Meanwhile, the new graphic novel features Batman and Robin not as superheroes and sidekicks, but as father and son, as the dynamic duo team up to save the streets of Gotham City.

Batman & Robin Volume 1: Father & Son

Of course, fans know that this version of Robin is actually Damian Wayne, the biological son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul. He was first introduced as “Robin” in “Batman #657,” and he returns for a new era in this graphic novel, which is officially titled “Batman & Robin Vol. 1: Father & Son.”

This Target edition features an exclusive cover featuring the two characters in dark, somber silhouettes as they stand in front of a lit-up cityscape. The 160-page graphic novel was released on August 6 and is exclusive to Target, meaning you won’t be able to find this version of the book anywhere else.

According to Random House, the new graphic novel follows Batman and Robin as they confront a new villain named Shosh. The book description reads: “As Gotham City turns into a veritable urban jungle, the ultimate superhero team must discover who this new enemy is and who he works for. As if that weren’t enough, Damian must embrace his secret identity and become something he’s never been before: a student.”
