Adele's Las Vegas Residency: What to Expect and What It's Like

“This residency, these shows have changed my life,” Adele wrote in an Instagram caption last fall. “I was desperate to fall in love with performing live again, and I did. I needed to reconnect with my songs and remember what they meant to me, and I did! Being on stage this past year so up close and personal with an audience again after all these years was a truly extraordinary restorative experience that I will never forget. All the funny, emotional, wild, and sad interactions we had are seared into my mind for the rest of my life. The looks on your faces, seeing you laugh and cry together and sing your hearts out and stack bags of confetti. All the simi dolls, friendship bracelets, flowers, FaceTime calls, and flags. It’s crazy how a show full of sad songs can be so exhilarating!! I felt so much and learned so much about myself and you. It humanized everything I thought was scary. “Mostly – it made me realize how much I enjoy being on stage, that I’m so good at it and that this is where I 100% belong!”

“So let's go one last time before I turn into a showgirl forever! I love you and I'll see you on the other side soon,” Adele continued.

Adele has never performed better, and Weekends With proves it. Fans who have waited months or years to see Adele in Las Vegas should expect an intimate performance, complete with immersive sound engineered by audio company L-Acoustics — you’ve heard their sound systems in venues like the Hollywood Bowl — tuned specifically for every moment of the show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

That means no matter where you sit in the audience, you’ll feel like you’re part of the action, from Adele’s opening ballad to the most dramatic moments (think: thunderclaps, an extended live band performance, a piano literally on fire as rain falls from the sky—can you guess the song?). In other words: It’s subtle, but what you see is what you hear, and there’s no bad seat in the auditorium from an audio perspective.

“The big focus was on the sound design on this show – while we certainly deliver moments of hyper-realism – we wanted to foster a strong underlying sense of audio-visual connection,” said Adele production system engineer Johnny Curl. Rolling Stone In an interview about using L-Acoustics' L-ISA immersive audio technology for hands-on training, he said, “For example, hearing a guitar sound coming from where our eyes tell us the guitar should be coming from.”

“With the focus of the show design on a visually growing show, we were able to complement the visual landscape of the show with a soundscape that grows and evolves in a similar way,” Curl continued. “While this is done to keep up with the overall visual ebb and flow of the show, we can also do this throughout the course of the song, adding an extra dimension to the overall experience.”

When will Adele be performing in Las Vegas?

The Weekends with Adele residency began in November 2022 at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace (home to past residencies by the likes of Mariah Carey and Celine Dion). The singer performed two shows each weekend through March 25, 2022. The second show kicked off on June 16 and was scheduled to end on November 4, 2023, according to Adele's website. On October 20, 2023, Adele announced 32 new dates as the final leg of her residency, which began on January 19 and was scheduled to end on June 15, 2024.

But on February 27, 2024, Adele announced that she would need to postpone her upcoming “Weekends With Adele” shows to March.

“Unfortunately, I have to stop performing and cancel my Las Vegas show,” Adele posted in a statement on her website. X“I was sick at the end of the last stage and throughout my break. I was not able to regain my full health before resuming the shows and now I am sick again, and unfortunately all this has affected my voice.”

Adele continued: “On doctor’s orders, I have no choice but to rest completely. The remaining five weeks of this phase have been postponed to a later date. We are already working on the details and will send you the information as soon as possible.”

Adele announced the rescheduling of her concert dates on April 2, which includes 10 new shows starting on October 25 and 26, respectively.

In July, Adele initially discussed taking a break in an interview with ZDF“I don't have any plans for new music at all,” Adele said in the interview. “I want to have a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, even if it's for a little while.”

Adele performed a series of concerts in Munich over the summer, and the upcoming dates in fall 2024 mark the end of the Weekends With era. “After that, I won’t see you for an incredibly long time,” Adele said of her final Las Vegas dates at her Munich show. “I’ll hold you dear to my heart throughout my vacation, and I’ll dream about these shows and any shows I’ve done over the last three years. I really, really hold them deep in my heart forever.”
