Finneas defended his sister Billie Eilish on the remix of her new song “Guess” with Charli XCX in response to a scathing TikTok video (which, it's worth noting, was probably designed to be as controversial as possible).
This was a heated comment made by a user who doesn’t post much but tends to engage in wild (and obvious) reactions. In this TikTok video, they assumed that Eilish’s verse on “Guess” was “too predatory,” but listeners were “shocked by her usual homophobic tirade for commercial gain.”
“Since the controversy over the loss,” she continued — referring to allegations that Eilish was trolling in the video. happier than ever Single — “She's been putting girls down to a great degree, all in an attempt to convince fans that she actually likes them. Charlie is 32 and engaged FYI.”
Phineas responded to this with comments saying: “What a surprise you little clown. I watched the entire internet criticize my sister for inciting homophobia for a whole year, when in reality, you were all forcing her to label herself and come out as gay.”
In which rolling stone Earlier this year, Eilish opened up about her sexuality, becoming more comfortable discussing it publicly — something she never thought she would do. In the interview, she noted that making her hit me hard and soft The song “Lunch” — in which she compares sex with a girl to eating a meal — helped her “become who I am.”
“I wrote some of this before I did anything with a girl, and then I wrote the rest after,” she continued. “I’ve been into girls my whole life, but I didn’t understand it — until I realized last year that I wanted my face in a vagina. I never planned to talk about my sex life, in a million years.”
Eilish somewhat inadvertently appeared in an interview with diverse In 2023, when she said she was attracted to women. A month later, on the red carpet for Variety's Hitmakers event, she was asked if she came out intentionally and replied, “No, I didn't. But I kind of thought, 'Wasn't it obvious?'” However, the interview left her frustrated, and afterward, Eilish posted on Instagram, “Thank you Variety for my award and also for coming out on the red carpet at 11 a.m. instead of talking about anything else important. I love boys and girls, leave me alone about this please literally who cares.”
Talk to rolling stoneEilish admitted she overreacted at the time, but maintained a defiant demeanor when discussing the frustration she feels when people try to define her. (And that arguably even includes TikTok trolls.)
“The whole world suddenly decided who I was, and I had no say or control over anything,” she said. “No one should be pressured into being one thing or another, and I think there are so many labels that are required everywhere. My friend, I’ve known people who don’t know their sexuality, or don’t feel comfortable with it, until they’re in their 40s, 50s, 60s. It takes a while to find yourself, and I think it’s really unfair, the way the internet bullies you into talking about who you are and who you are.”
