‘Fortnite Festival’ Sets Karol G as Headliner for Season 5

The Fortnite Festival returns for its fifth season on Friday, featuring Karol G as the online event's new musical icon.

To honor the Colombian artist as the lead artist, Fortnite Festival Season 5 will feature a special soundtrack filled with Karol G-themed in-game items, including the Bichota Season Karol G Outfit, Bichota Microphone, and Bichota Six-String Guitar. This offer is available for purchase in Fortnite for 1,800 V-Bucks.

The event will take place from August 16 to November 2, and will also feature a limited-time playable concert, “Karol G MSB Fortnite,” which will take place from August 23 to 26.

According to Epic Games, “Karol G’s playable concert, Karol G MSB Fortnite, is a unique music experience where you can dance all weekend long starting Friday, August 23, at 3 p.m. ET until 12 p.m. ET on August 26, 2024. More than just a hit playlist, this is a five-part visual journey through Karol G’s life and musical career. In terms of gameplay, fans can collect EmPower-Ups in the music experience to release negative energy and spread positive vibes at this neon-covered concert.”

New Karol G songs that will be available to play in the rhythm music game Fortnite Festival include: “Oki Doki,” “Provenza – Remix,” “Cairo,” and “Qlona.”

Latin artist Karol G has won a Grammy Award, five Latin Grammy Awards (including Album of the Year), four Billboard Music Awards, and is the 2024 Billboard Woman of the Year, and is the first artist to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 with an all-Spanish album (“Mañana Será Bonito”).

She's the latest Fortnite Festival honoree in a growing group of A-list music icons, following stints by Metallica (James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Robert Trujillo, Lars Ulrich), The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, and Billie Eilish in the four previous editions of the in-game event.
