Fox Host Calls Covid a ‘Scam’

Host Rachel Campos Duffy praised Sen. Ron Johnson for “not falling for the Covid hoax” during Sunday's episode of Weekend with Fox and Friends.

“I saw you had a podcast with Russell Brand… you couldn’t seem more different and yet you were both some of the bravest people during the Covid scam, and you both stood up for those who got the vaccine,” Campos-Duffy told Johnson.

The COVID-19 virus, which Campos Davi called a “scam,” has killed more than seven million people worldwide, according to the World Health Organization.

Campos Davy, a former The real world The cast member has previously spread misinformation about Covid. She previously claimed the pandemic was a “psychological operation” and lied when she claimed that “not a single healthy child has died from Covid.” In 2021, she compared vaccine mandates to “apartheid.”

“We’re starting to see this kind of apartheid-type vaccination system where, you know, if you’re vaccinated, you get certain privileges,” Campos-Duffy said. “If you’re not vaccinated because, you know, you don’t want to take the vaccine or you have natural immunity because you’ve already had COVID, you’re going to be denied certain privileges, including seeing your doctor.”

Campos-Duffy claimed she was unvaccinated, despite Fox News' policy requiring all New York City-based employees to show proof of vaccination to work at their headquarters during the pandemic.

After President Joe Biden joked that all Fox anchors who attended the 2022 White House Correspondents' Dinner were vaccinated (proof of vaccination was required to attend), Campos-Duffy claimed that she and co-host Pete Hegseth — neither of whom was at the event — had not gotten the Covid vaccine.

“They tried to call up Fox News and say, ‘Look! Fox News is all vaccinated!’ No, that’s not true!” she said. Campos-Duffy then pointed to Hegseth and said the two were “unvaccinated” because the network “allows[s] “The people's choice.”

Common

According to a company memo issued in December 2020, “All New York City employees performing in-person work at an office location, including Fox employees, must show proof of having received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.”

Campos-Duffy wasn’t the only one spreading misinformation about Covid on the network. Hosts Brian Kilmeade and Laura Ingraham have also been fear-mongering about the vaccine and downplaying the virus and the pandemic. Ingraham, Sean Hannity, and former Fox host Tucker Carlson have also promoted ivermectin as a Covid treatment despite a lack of scientific evidence.
