‘Ghosts’ Cast Talks Season 3 Success and the Upcoming Season 4

The cast of Paramount+ comedy series “Ghosts” filmed the entire third season in Montreal for about half the year, so arriving at the San Diego Comic-Con in front of a sea of fans was a “surreal” experience, according to show star Utkarsh Ambudkar.

“We shoot 22 episodes in another country for the better part of a year, six or seven months. So to come back to the States and walk into a room with thousands of people, who seem to be there to see us, is absolutely incredible,” Ambudkar said. “It’s very affirming, and it shows how popular ‘Ghosts’ has become.”

Ambudkar sat down with fellow stars Roman Zaragoza, Rebecca Wysocki and Richie Moriarty at diverse Studio presented by Google TV at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 to discuss the success of “Ghosts” and the upcoming fourth season.

Ghosts follows a young couple, Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Amboodkar), who inadvertently inherit a haunted mansion and plan to turn it into a small hotel. But after a strange accident, Sam suddenly sees all of her housemates with supernatural spirits, ruining their small hotel plans.

In the new season of “Ghosts,” Jay, played by Ambudkar, will finally be able to see spirits himself. While details for season four are still unclear, Ambudkar is excited to interact with his co-stars face-to-face for the first time.

“For me as an actor, it will be great to be able to make eye contact with my co-stars for the first time. I mean, it's really great,” Ambudkar said.

“But we have no idea how long this condition might last,” Wisoski joked. “This is not necessarily a new, permanent condition.”

New cast members will also be introduced in season four, including Mary Holland, who will play a 17th-century Protean ghost named Patience. Speaking on behalf of the entire cast, Moriarty said they were thrilled to hear Holland would join the “Ghosts” team.

“A lot of us are improvisers in the cast and we know her very well from the UCB world and the improv world,” Moriarty said. “We were so excited the moment we heard [she was cast]”It's a great addition.”
