The always charming Matthias Schweighöfer spoke with MovieWeb's Greg Archer about his new musical Girl You Know It's True, an '80s-set film about the man and band who fooled the world, Milli Vanilli. Schweighöfer also touched on the upcoming Netflix sci-fi film Brick with his co-star, Ruby O.V. Girl You Know It's True hits theaters August 9, 2024.
Nominated in the Best German Actor category at the 2024 Jupiter Awards for his role, Schweighöfer gives a convincing performance as Frank Farian, the man behind the creation of the R&B superstar duo Milli Vanilli in this fast-paced cautionary tale set in the 1980s. Under the name Milli Vanilli, Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan stormed the international charts, scored three number one hits in the USA and enjoyed the lavish lifestyle in Hollywood.
