Good luck! Black The Emperor will release a new album, No address as of February 13, 2024 28,340 deadon October 4 via Constellation Records. The album's title refers to the number of Palestinians in Gaza killed by Israeli airstrikes between October 7, 2023, and February 13, 2024.
The rock band previewed the album with a seven-minute single titled “Grey Rubble – Green Shoots”, the album's closing track.
The album description states, “The plain truth – we drifted through it, arguing. Every day a new war crime, every day a flower blooms. We sat together and wrote it in one room,
“Then I sat in another room recording. No title—what gestures made sense as the little bodies fell? What context? What broken tune? Then we recorded a statistic and a date to mark a point on the line, the negative process, the growing pile. The sun set over beds of ashes as we sat together, arguing. The old world order barely pretended to care. This new century would be more cruel. War was coming. Don’t give in. Pick a side. Wait.”
The album is available for pre-order via the Godspeed You! Black Emperor Bandcamp page now. The band recently announced their Liberation Autumn of '24 tour, which kicks off on September 27 in Dublin. The band will play shows in the UK and Europe before heading to North America in November.
