Gordo and Drake Surprise Family in Heartwarming Video for ‘Healing’

Gordo and Drake have released the video for their latest duet, “Healing,” one of two collaborations featured on the former's new album, “Diamante.”

Although no artist appears in the video, Gordo explained in a YouTube comment that he wanted to focus on Don Madfoons, a person he came across on TikTok while scrolling.

“His musical taste caught my attention, but it was his dancing, his smile, and his story that really drew me in,” Gordo wrote. “Don walked 9 miles to work every day despite the weather or his own safety… He risked everything for his family… and dreamed one day that his agonizingly slow walk would end and he would finally be able to own a car so he could support his family.”

Gordo stated that he couldn't stop thinking about Don when he thought about treatment for the “Healing” video, so he enlisted director Theo Scudra to capture a day in Don's life. Although Gordo wasn't on set, the video captures Don's daily life in Dodo, and ends with Gordo surprising him and his family with his own car.

“With this video, I wanted to show that Don’s positive attitude and sense of humor is something we can all learn from, no matter what we’re going through,” Gordo wrote. “His story is a reminder that even when life gets tough, you can still find reasons to smile. I hope this video touches your hearts as it did mine.”

Gordo, formerly known as Carnage, has worked extensively with Drake over the past few years. He produced five tracks on the singer’s “Honestly Nevermind” album, including “Sticky” and “Massive,” and contributed to last year’s “For All the Dogs” album on the songs “Gently” and “Rich Baby Daddy.”
