Will Horizon ever come back to life on a streaming service?

Having premiered on Max on August 23, it's too early to say whether Horizon Chapter One The film will find new life—and a new audience—on streaming. While it did well enough as a PVOD release, and given that many films that didn’t do well at the box office have managed to claw their way back to the top of the charts, there’s a good chance it will, but will it be enough to prove to Warner Bros. bosses that the remaining films are worth a shot? Costner is optimistic, but admits it could take some time.

“Oftentimes, the things you want to make don’t resonate with anyone else right away. It’s only after you’ve finished the work that people start to understand what the work was about, and they almost take responsibility for it themselves, and say, ‘I love this movie. I love these characters. I didn’t know where this story was going.’ It’s beautiful in life to be surprised.”

While we wait for news on when and where Horizon: An American Odyssey – Chapter Two We can only hope that Costner can deliver on everything he promised when he started out. It would be a shame if his last great film fell by the wayside.
