The streaming service will be one of the most intense experiences of the summer. M. Night Shyamalan’s “Trap” was a moderate success, grossing over $72.1 million at the worldwide box office, and you can now watch it at home.
Beginning Friday, August 30 at 12 a.m. ET/Thursday, August 29 at 9 p.m. PT, “Trap” in 4K Ultra HD will be available for purchase digitally for $24.99 online on Prime Video, Apple TV and other video-on-demand platforms.
Meanwhile, “Trap” is set to be released on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD on Tuesday, November 5 at Target and Amazon.
As for the movie itself, Varieties Film critic Owen Gleiberman praised the film's music. In his review, Gleiberman wrote: “The concert by Lady Raven, a pop star (played by Shyamalan's daughter, Salika Shyamalan) who is a mix of Lady Gaga and Olivia Rodrigo, is lively and catchy (written by Salika Shyamalan, who is absolutely brilliant, as is her performance).”
Written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, “Trap” tells the story of loving father and firefighter Cooper, played by Josh Hartnett, as he takes his teenage daughter Riley, played by Arielle Donoghue, to a matinee concert hosted by her favorite pop star Lady Raven, played by Salika Night Shyamalan.
But Cooper has a secret. In his secret life, he is actually a brutal serial killer known as “The Butcher” and Lady Raven's party is an elaborate trap to catch him. Cooper must now try to evade the police without revealing himself to his daughter.
The film also stars Alison Pill, Hayley Mills, Jonathan Langdon, Mark Bacolcol, Marnie McPhail, Kid Cudi, Ross, Marcia Bennett, Lachlan Miller and others.
