Golfers are guaranteed a big paycheck once they reach the Tour Championship, and they have the opportunity to earn a lot of money if they place well. The first-place prize is $25 million, second $12.5 million, and third $7.5 million. All players who finish in the top twelve receive at least seven figures, and the golfer who finishes last (30th) receives $550,000.
As in the past few years, the Tour Championship will award players starting points based on the number of FedEx Cup points they have accumulated during qualifying. The two players with the most points start the Tour Championship at 10 under par, No. 2 starts at 8 under par, No. 3 starts at 7 under par, and so on.
