“I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election,” Swift wrote in an Instagram post last week.
Donald Trump is furious. “I hate Taylor Swift,” he wrote on Truth Social Sunday morning, days after the star endorsed Kamala Harris.
“I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz for president in 2024,” Swift wrote in an Instagram post after Tuesday’s debate, signing off her post with “kidless cat lady” — a reference to Trump’s running mate J.D. Vance, who has complained that the country is run by “kidless cat ladies.”
This isn’t the first time Trump has reacted to Swift’s endorsement. Asked about his feelings on the matter last week, Trump said, “I actually like Mrs. Mahomes a lot more,” referring to Swift’s girlfriend, Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who has liked several pro-Trump posts on social media.
“I was never a fan of Taylor Swift. It was just a matter of time. She couldn't possibly support Biden. But she's a very liberal person, and she always seems to support Democrats – and she probably pays the price for it in the market,” Trump continued.
Swift says one of the reasons she endorsed Harris was because Trump posted an AI-generated image of her. “I recently learned that an AI-generated image of me falsely endorsing Donald Trump for president was posted on his site,” she wrote. “This really raised my concerns about AI and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”
