Ilana Glazer has a new comedy special called “Human Magic” coming to Hulu.
“Human Magic” was recorded at the Elgin Centre and Winter Garden Theatre in Toronto in May of this year during Glazer’s 48-city tour across the United States and Canada. It’s their second comedy special, following “Ilana Glazer: The Planet Is Burning,” which debuted on Amazon Prime Video in 2020 and saw them discuss “their thoughts on homophobia and Nazis, how bad women’s razors are and how much of a joke the patriarchy is.”
Glazer is best known for her work on the Comedy Central series “Broad City,” which she produced and co-showrunner with Abbi Jacobson. After its initial web premiere, “Broad City” ran on Comedy Central for five seasons. In film, Glazer’s credits include writing and starring in Pamela Adlon’s 2024 comedy “Babes” and John Lee’s 2021 horror film “False Positive.” They also had roles in Lucia Aniello and Paul W. Downs’ 2017 film “Rough Night,” the first season of Apple TV+’s “The Afterparty,” and both seasons of Netflix’s “Green Eggs and Ham.”
Jeff Tomsic directed “Human Magic,” which is produced by Rotten Science and Starrpix. The special is the latest addition to Hulu’s new comedy brand “Hularious,” which the streaming service will launch in November with “Jim Gaffigan: The Skinny.” Other comedians who will be guest-starring in upcoming Hularious specials include Bill Butt and Roy Wood Jr., with more to be announced as the brand also prepares to launch a slate of licensed specials from 800 Pound Gorilla, Comedy Dynamics and more.
